Recent DNS Trouble

Sorry about the downtime! We were down today April 24th from around 7 o'clock PM PDT to 10:45 PM PDT. We were having some trouble with our external IP Address being re-assigned and our DNS not being notified. We have now installed a redundant system that will monitor our IP Address at all times to keep our DNS provider up to speed. Thanks for the patience!

*** Upcoming Downtime ***

This is a bit of an important post, users of the Find My Device App and any other XanderNet Services should read.

Starting April 19th and spanning until April 21st the XanderNet Servers will be taken down. Don't worry, this is not a problem with our servers but actually a problem with our server housing. Recently we found mold in the place we house our servers and because of this during the days of our downtime we are going to be having some work done to get rid of this mold that could potentially harm our server hardware should we leave them operating during this time. We have been trying for the last month to find another location we could temporarily store our servers during this time, but have come to no avail in finding one. So, rather than risking user data being lost because of hardware failures we have made the decision to take the servers down during those 3 days. The servers will go down at approximately 12 o'clock A.M. Pacific Standard Time on April 19th and should come back up by the latest at 12 o'clock A.M. Pacific Standard Time on April 23rd. During this time we will not be able to receive your device location updates or register any new users.

We deeply apologize for this inconvenience and we regret that we could not avoid this downtime, but it had to be done. We will update this post with any new information we would like you all to know or anything else. Thank you all for your patience and consideration!

Timezone fix

We've received bug reports over the last couple weeks about times being displayed in the incorrect timezones online. We *think* we may have fixed this problem through our server. We'd like all of our users to login online and go to either the devices or track page to verify this. We are now using the times stored on our servers and converting them to the hopefully correct timezones with some javascript. Try it out see if it works! Thanks so much for your patience!

Email Validator Fixed

We have now marked the Email Validation bug as Fixed today at 5:25 as we have replaced the old system on our servers that validated emails with a new one which is more sophisticated and should cease red flags on valid emails. This bug was experienced by about 0.005% of our users and has now been fixed. Thank you all for your patience and for contacting us so quickly with problems!
